12 easy tasks before you attend an interview

1)Familiarise yourself with the requirements of the job and be clear how your achievements fit the role.

2)Have a copy of the job description and advert to take with you.

3)Review your CV – consider questions you may be asked and have appropriate answers prepared.

4)Identify the areas in previous roles which are relevant to the position for which you are being interviewed – ensure you can speak knowledgeably about these.

5)Complete research on the Company and the job.

6)Prepare a list of questions you would like to ask about the job and the Company and take this with you to the interview.

7)Establish before the interview who will be interviewing you, their job title and position in the Company.

8)Plan what you will wear and check it is appropriate and presentable.

9)Take two spare copies of your CV with you making sure they are in a white A4 envelope or plastic wallet.

10)Check the time of the interview and where it will be held (this may be a different venue to the address where your invitation originated from)

11)Plan your journey so that you can arrive 10-15 minutes early.

12)Switch off your mobile phone.
